FERRAGAMO for man

This eponymous brand was started by Salvatore Ferragamo, 12 years after the young apprentice shoemaker emigrated to the US to hone his craft in 1915. While in the US, he opened his store called the Hollywood Boot Shop and made shoes for stars like Joan Crawford and Gloria Swanson as well as providing footwear for films like the epic The Ten Commandments. In 1927, he returned to Italy, settling on Florence as the location of his workshop due to its reputation as a hub for art culture and business. He ran his workshop with the efficiency of an American factory but with the quality and craftsmanship for which Italian luxury goods are renowned. Ferragamo passed away in 1960 and the company was taken over by his wife Wanda. Wanda played a huge role in bringing the company to where it is now.
